Sanctuary Software’s Inaugural Game Jam Event
Let the games begin! Sanctuary Software is hosting their inaugural Game Jam! This event provides an opportunity for members to develop new skills in a collaborative, fast-paced game development environment, fostering teamwork while creating a fun and rewarding experience.
What is a Game Jam?
A Game Jam is an event where participants try to make a video game from scratch, usually following a prompt revealed right before the start. The event typically ranges from 24 to 72 hours over the course of a weekend. This type of event is a great opportunity for participants learn new skills and expand existing ones. The time limitation is a key element that encourages participants to keep things simple, reduce overthinking, and come out with portfolio pieces. Participants are welcome to work individually or as part of a team. Projects are not restricted to video games and may explore any game medium.
The Event
The event kicks off Friday, August 7th at 12:00 PM Eastern time with the prompt reveal and team formation. On Saturday, August 8th, participants will work on their projects in person or online. The event will conclude with a Remote Show & Tell that will take place the evening of Sunday, August 9th.
