As have other companies, Sanctuary Software Studio has struggled with the management overhead of a
large number of projects concurrently under production. Managing communications between the various
technical resources and the clients may be time consuming, but it is critical to the on-time success
of digital media development. We have come up with a software system that helps our company handle
the load of project management. This system may also be able to help your company.
Harlequin is an extranet software system for project management. The software focuses on providing
a smooth and cohesive communication path between the project development staff and the customers. While
the system operates through a web interface, Harlequin is not limited to web development projects.
Harlequin is seeing broad acceptance in project management by several service and manufacturing
companies. Since it is highly customizable, Harlequin may be adopted to existing work environments or
to help bring structure to developing processes. Customer data is kept secure, while developers get
a macro view of their work load and scheduling.
Deploying Harlequin is simple. Harlequin runs on Microsoft Windows NT/2000 and supports leading
database management systems. With a little customization, Harlequin can be tailored to serve the needs
of most small to medium sized businesses. Through Sanctuary Software Studio application hosting,
Harlequin can be online for a simple monthly hosting fee.

When developing new products, aerospace is one of the most demanding industries. Aircraft
products require stringent and extensive verification before ever reaching the marketplace.
However, time-to-market is key to launch of any new product line in any industry.
When SMR Technologies launched the IceShieldTM product line in 1997, they were faced bringing
an entirely new set of aircraft de-icing products into a competitive market. In order to avoid
the long delays and extreme costs of premature flight testing, SMR chose to initially verify the
life cycle of their products in the laboratory.
Sanctuary Software Studio provided laboratory instrumentation and software to automate endurance
testing of prototype elements. The Endurance Test Fixture (ETF) provids automated testing with
high availability. With system access over LAN, WAN and the web, ETF provides the technical staff
with the process visibility to reduce the time to market.

Sanctuary Software Studio has developed a broad spectrum of multimedia software applications.
We have delivered software ranging from shrink-wrapped applications to aircraft avionics.
In our earlier days, we developed a 3D action game for Microsoft DOS computers known as
BACKLASH. BACKLASH is a space combat game featuring rasterized 3D models and real-time
simulation.
BACKLASH was developed and published as shareware in 1994. In 1995, Madacy Entertainment
published and distributed a retail version of BACKLASH worldwide. While rapidly changing
computer technology has rendered much of the BACKLASH software obsolete, it still stands as
an interesting example of the combination of software development, graphic design and audio
production that comprise successful multimedia development.
BACKLASH is now available as freeware. It may be downloaded from this site or from mirror
locations on the Internet.
